CARE Meetings. What Are They? Should I Go To One?

CARE meetings are caregiver support groups for anyone who finds themselves in a caregiving situation now, provided care in the past or anticipate being a caregiver in the future. Based on information from the National Survey of Families and Households in 1998, 13 years ago, 52 million people in the US are providing cares for a loved one.  That's A LOT OF US!!

Becoming a caregiving can be a lot like becoming a parent for the first time.  There is no instruction booklet.  You do the best you can and pray you don't make a mistake.  CARE meetings are a way to share what you have learned with others and hopefully make the caregiving road a little bit smoother for them.

I have had many meetings with family members in and outside of a CARE meetings where they have expressed the same thing...."Why didn't anyone tell us this?"  Well, here is your chance!  Come to a CARE Meeting.  Share what knowledge you have and maybe present questions or concerns that you haven't found a solution to yet.  Chances are, someone else at the meeting had experienced it.

Freedom Home Health and Hospice focuses on educating and serving the community and facilitates CARE meetings throughout Utah Valley. Please pass this information on to those who could benefit from a CARE meeting.  We are here to help!
